Chemscape vs SDSentry: price, trial and fit
Chemscape does not publish its prices: SDS Management, CHAMP and SDS Authoring are sold by quote and demo, and its site shows no free trial. SDSentry is a published $24 per location a month ($199 a year) with unlimited users and a 7-day free trial with no card to start.
- Price: Chemscape’s price is not published; you request a quote. SDSentry is $24 per location a month or $199 per location a year, at any library size.
- Trial: Chemscape’s site offers a demo, not a trial. SDSentry gives 7 days with no card to start, and a free plan for up to 5 chemicals after that.
- Canadian sites, heavy industry, chemical approvals: Chemscape is the stronger fit. It is Canadian, lists over 100 regulatory reports (Canadian and US), and its CHAMP add-on runs chemical approvals and risk assessments with industrial hygienist support.
- A small US workplace that needs the HazCom paperwork: SDSentry writes the written HazCom program from your inventory and includes training records, the OSHA 300 log and Tier II export at the same price.
What Chemscape costs
Chemscape publishes no price list. Every product page we read on 25 October 2026 (SDS Management, CHAMP, SDS Authoring) ends in “Get a Quote” or “Get a Demo”, and no pricing page is linked from its navigation. We do not estimate a figure: the price is not published, and it is set in a quote for your sites and products.

Where Chemscape is better
- Canadian and multi-jurisdiction sites. A Canadian vendor with Canadian reports (NPRI, CEPA) next to US ones. SDSentry is built for US OSHA HazCom only.
- Sheets kept current for you. Chemscape says it keeps SDSs current on a 3-year cycle and emails you about changes. In SDSentry you add and replace sheets yourself.
- Chemical approvals and risk assessments. CHAMP adds approval requests with several approver groups, risk assessments from the SDS plus how the product is used, and help from a certified industrial hygienist. SDSentry does none of that.
- Offline mobile app and SDS authoring. An Apple and Android app with offline binders, and SDS authoring software and services. SDSentry offers neither.
Where SDSentry is better
- A price you can see. $24 per location a month or $199 a year, unlimited users, no SDS cap, no sales call.
- A trial instead of a demo. 7-day free trial with no card to start; free plan up to 5 chemicals.
- More of HazCom in one place. SDSentry writes the written HazCom program from your inventory and includes training records with e-signatures, workplace posters, the OSHA 300 log and EPCRA Tier II export.
Not ready for a subscription? The HazCom Program Kit is a $29 one-time download: an editable written program, chemical inventory, SDS log, container labels and training records in Word and Excel. It is a set of templates, not legal advice.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Chemscape cost?
Chemscape does not publish prices. Its SDS Management, CHAMP and SDS Authoring pages offer only Get a Quote and Get a Demo (checked 25 October 2026), so the price is not published. SDSentry is $24 per location a month or $199 per location a year, with unlimited users and no SDS cap.
Is Chemscape affordable for a small municipality or small employer?
We cannot say, because Chemscape does not publish a price; you would need to ask its sales team for a quote. Chemscape lists municipalities among the industries it serves. If you want a price you can see before talking to anyone, SDSentry is $24 per location a month or $199 a year, and you can start a 7-day free trial with no card (add PayPal to keep it, or the account pauses to read-only on day 8), and a free plan covers up to 5 chemicals.
Chemscape vs MSDSonline (VelocityEHS): which is better?
Both sell by demo and quote with no published price. Chemscape is a Canadian company whose SDS Management lists over 100 regulatory reports, including Canadian (NPRI, CEPA) and US (EPA, SARA) reports, and a CHAMP add-on for chemical approvals and risk assessments. See our VelocityEHS page for what it sells. SDSentry is a third option for a small US employer that wants a published per-location price and the written HazCom program, training records and Tier II export in one place.
